The European Union could “respond swiftly and decisively” against what it deems “unwarranted” travel bans imposed by the United States on five European individuals involved in combating online hate and misinformation, a European Commission spokesperson stated.
EU Officials Condemn US Action as ‘Coercion’
European leaders such as Emmanuel Macron accused the US administration of “coercion and intimidation”, following the travel bans were placed on figures who have been central to efforts to enact legislation regulating US-based technology firms.
